Frequently Asked Questions

Fitment, paint, shipping, returns and warranty questions about OEM & aftermarket collision body parts for GM, Ford and Mopar at AutoBodyPartsHQ.

Finding the right panel

How do I know which body panel fits my vehicle?

Match the part number first, then confirm the vehicle details on the product page. Every listing shows the OEM number it replaces and the model years, body style and trim level it was catalogued for. If the part number on your old component matches the listing, that is the strongest confirmation. Where a panel was revised mid-year, the description states the cutoff date — check it against your build date before ordering.

Are these genuine factory parts or aftermarket replacements?

Both are sold here and each listing states which one you are looking at. Genuine parts are factory components with the manufacturer part number in the title. Aftermarket panels, covers and trim are produced to factory dimensions by independent manufacturers and are labelled accordingly. Paint, primer state and included hardware can differ between the two, so read the description rather than assuming they are interchangeable.

Will a replacement panel arrive already painted?

No. Steel, aluminium and plastic body panels ship in primer or a protective coating and must be prepped and painted to match your vehicle. Fasteners, clips and emblems are not included unless the description says so. Budget for refinishing at a body shop when comparing our price against a painted alternative.

What if the panel I need is not listed on the site?

Send us the OEM number and your VIN and we will check availability with our suppliers. Our catalogue covers a large slice of the GM, Ford and Mopar collision range but not every trim and colour variant, so an item missing from the site is not necessarily discontinued.

Shipping and delivery

How quickly will my order ship, and how long does delivery take?

Orders leave the warehouse within 1–2 business days. Ground delivery inside the contiguous United States then runs 3-7 business days depending on distance from the shipping warehouse. Oversized items such as hoods, door shells and bumper assemblies travel by freight and may take longer — a tracking number is emailed as soon as the shipment is booked.

What is the free shipping threshold?

Ground shipping is free on orders over $59. Below that threshold the carrier rate is calculated at checkout before you pay. Freight-class items and deliveries outside the contiguous United States are quoted separately because carriers price them by dimensions and destination.

Can you ship body panels to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada?

Possibly, but contact us before ordering. Oversized panels need freight quoting that our checkout cannot calculate automatically. Send the part number, the delivery postcode and whether the address is a residence or a business, and we will confirm the cost and the carrier before you place the order.

Orders, returns and warranty

Can I change the shipping address after I order?

Contact us immediately. We can normally amend an address or cancel while the order is still in the picking queue. Once a parcel or freight shipment has been handed to the carrier the address can no longer be changed, and the return process applies instead.

The panel arrived damaged in transit — what now?

Photograph the crate, the packaging and the damage before you sign for the delivery if possible, then email us within 48 hours with your order number and the photos. Transit damage and wrong-item shipments are resolved at our cost, including return freight. Keep the original packaging until the claim is closed, because the carrier may require an inspection.

Can I return a panel that does not match my paint or trim?

Unpainted panels can be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are unfitted and in their original packaging. Parts that have been painted, drilled, cut or installed cannot be returned, because they can no longer be resold. If the mismatch is our error — a different part number than you ordered — we cover the return either way.

Do you supply parts to body shops and dealers?

Yes. Shops ordering multiple panels, mirror assemblies or trim sets can request a quote by email with part numbers and quantities. Volume pricing depends on the item class and the total order value, and freight can be consolidated into a single shipment where the parts ship from the same warehouse.

Where do I find my invoice or a copy of the receipt?

A confirmation email is sent when the order is placed and the invoice is attached to the shipment confirmation. If you need a duplicate, or the invoice has to carry a business name or tax identifier, email us the order number and we will reissue it.

Is there a warranty on genuine and aftermarket parts?

Genuine parts carry the manufacturer warranty and we pass that coverage through, helping you file the claim. Aftermarket body components carry the warranty stated on the product page, which is usually limited to defects in material and workmanship. Wear items, consumables and damage from improper installation or fitment are excluded by both.

Why can the same part number appear twice at different prices?

Genuine and aftermarket versions of the same fitment are separate listings and never share a price. Two identical-looking listings usually differ by brand, by finish (primed versus textured), or by whether mounting hardware is included. Compare the title, the brand and the "replaces" numbers before choosing the cheaper one.
